Trauma Care at Phoenix Hospital Bangalore
Injury of any nature has to be attended immediately and needs medical emergency services for intervention. Phoenix Hospital with trauma center along with Ambulance service has a organized system of care ensuring a continuum of care to stabilize the patient with acute care and rehabilitation.
Patients who need Trauma Care:
Road accident (Multiple injury)
Fall from height
Physical abuse
Sport’s injury
Electric shock
Trauma Care Include:
Endo-Tracheal Intubation
Oxygen Supplementation
CPR (Cardiopulmonary resuscitation)
Cricothyroidotomy (surgical procedure to access the respiratory system in case of failed airway in adults)
Intravenous Access
Bleeding Control
Fracture Immobilization
Blood Transfusion
Administration Of Fluids and Medicines
Psychological support
As soon as the patient is brought by Ambulance inside the trauma care, following assessments (ABCDE approach) is done for sustaining the life –
Airway
Breathing
Circulation
Disability or neurologic damage
Expose the patient
GCS (Glasgow coma scale)
Imaging studies might be done if required
Depending on the condition, patient is shifted to emergency ward/ICU/CCU to treat the life-threatening conditions.
